I consider Pottery as a stream which I let carry me away, if not seduce me… I am Mica Vogiatzi, I live on the island of Aegina and I’ve been involved in pottery for about thirty years. Having grown up in Zaire, now Congo, Africa, I remember myself being mesmerised by the sight of the ceramics arrayed on the ground in open-air markets. Later, living in Aegina, I met my tutor, Theodora Chorafa, and through her workshops I got to know the art of ceramics more effectively. Some years later, I made the decision to set up my own workshop, focusing on porcelain, a rather sophisticated approach in ceramics. Since then I’ve become a professional ceramist and, whenever I have the opportunity, I take part in exhibitions promoting the jewellery as well as the utilitarian and decorative items I create. Participation in Exhibitions: •Fougaro Craft Fair, Nafplio 2013• Η ΑΡΧΗ ΚΕΡΑΜΕΩΝ ΙΧΝΗ, Archaeological Museum of Patras 2014 • The first welcome Εν πλώ Aegina 2015• Porcelain Flowers, Ianos The mall Athens 2016 • Treasure Island, Paros 2016 • DARK, Athineo 2017 • Diachronies, Diachronic Museum of Larissa 2018 • XOBLIA, National Historical Museum 2019 • MELANA, Hellénique American Union 2021 • Ηρώον, Markellos Tower Aegina 2021 • Benaki Crafts, Benaki Museum 2022• XOBLIA, Maison de la Grèce, Paris, 2022
