Elina’s personal journey and her insatiable passionate approach to all things beautiful inevitably led to the founding of Avelia Nama. It’s the continuance of her culturally rich voyage as the 4th generation of a merchant family originating in Thessaloniki and Constantinople. Privileged as a teenager to have had the opportunity to train and perform with the Greek National School of dance, she is ever grateful of the resulting elegance, resilience and stamina her tutors bestowed upon her. Fortunate to have travelled the world promoting the family business she had the chance to work and meet some of the giants in the musical instrument industry and their many artists, musicians and performers. Brave enough to diversify and explore her passions and true calling, she became a part of the luxury and jewelry industry and was fortunate enough to have worked with and learnt from some of the best in class. Her multicultural exposures combined with a firm grasp of business, the thrill of entrepreneurship and her need to self-express result in fine and bespoke designs that convey history, memories, and a cultural expression of emotions, sensualism, feminism and sexuality. Currently working out of her atelier in the northern suburbs of Athens, she is authoring the Avelia Nama story drawing inspiration from the beauties of Greece – the big blue of the Aegean and the endless summer sun, as Avelia is the ancient Greek symbol of the Sun and Nama is the purest of water.
