Born and raised in Athens, Marianna Melliou Gaitantzopoulou is a dentist specialized in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, who practiced and taught dentistry in Greece and abroad for over than twenty years. Her involvement with jewelry started in her early years of studies as pass-time activity, related though to her studies in dentistry. Since then, she took lots of seminars and private lessons in jewelry designing and techniques. Today, she is totally dedicated to the art of jewelry and accessories, creating collections and custom, one-of-a kind jewelry pieces. JeAc by Marianna Melliou as a brand was launched in 2020 and it comes from the words Jewelry and Accessories. JeAc by Marianna Melliou has two main lines. The “JeAc Collections”, which consist of creations based on sterling silver as the main material and the “ CordsInStyle” a more lifestyle and relatively low cost series of jewelry and accessories where laces, cords, crystal beads and the semi-precious stones are leading. For the designer, making jewelry is another way of expressing her love for the aesthetics of harmony and balance, often overpassing the strict rules of symmetry. Her forms and lines are simple, influenced by nature, architecture, science, culture, art or symbols; in other words all women’s world. The source of her inspiration though is the woman herself. The woman next door, the girlfriend, the student, the woman passing by, women of various cultures and way of living, the woman of her dreams and her heart !!
